Refund policy
We hope you are delighted with your purchase, but if for any reason you are not completely satisfied, we’re here to help.
Returns
If you’ve changed your mind, you may return eligible items within 14 days of receiving your order, in line with UK consumer law. Items must be:
- Unused and in their original, undamaged packaging
- In a resaleable condition
Please contact us in writing (by email) within 14 days of delivery to inform us of your intention to return. You then have a further 14 days to return the goods.
You are responsible for return postage costs unless the item is faulty. We recommend obtaining proof of postage or using a tracked service, as we cannot refund items that do not arrive back with us.
We do not offer exchanges.
Items Exempt from Return or Refund
Please note that we are unable to accept returns or offer refunds for the following items:

Gift vouchers
- Made-to-order items (e.g. custom negatives or bespoke kits)
- Clearance or discounted items
- Special order items
- Workshop bookings (see Workshop Bookings – Cancellations & Transfers)
- Perishable items and materials
Products containing cyanotype coated papers or fabrics are perishable and are not eligible for return or refund.
Kits that include light-sensitive chemicals may only be returned if the original packaging seal remains unbroken. Once opened, these items cannot be resold and are non-returnable.
⚠️ Most kits currently available contain perishable or light-sensitive components. Please consider this carefully before placing your order.
If ineligible items are returned, no refund will be issued.
Faulty or Damaged Items
If your item arrives damaged or faulty, please contact us in writing (by email) within 7 days of delivery, including a description and, if possible, photographs. If the issue is confirmed, we will cover the cost of return and offer either a replacement or a refund.
Cancellations and Order Changes
If you wish to cancel or amend your order, please contact us in writing (by email) as soon as possible. Once an item has been dispatched, we are unable to make changes or cancel the order.
Under the UK’s Consumer Contracts Regulations, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receipt. This applies to most products, but does not apply to sealed light-sensitive goods once opened, perishable items, or made-to-order products.
To cancel, please contact us in writing (by email) with your order number and the item details.
Workshop Bookings – Cancellations & Transfers
Workshop bookings are non-refundable.
We understand that unexpected things can happen, including illness, and circumstances beyond your control that may prevent you from attending the workshop. If you’re unable to attend, you're welcome to transfer your booking to a friend or family member. Please contact me in writing to transfer the booking and let me know will be attending in your place.
It may be possible to re-sell your place once the workshop is fully booked. If I am able to do so, I can offer a refund minus a 10% admin fee, or transfer your booking to a future workshop, subject to availability.
Refunds
Once we receive and inspect your returned item(s), we will notify you of your refund status. Refunds will be made to the original payment method within 5 working days of receiving the return.
Please note:
- Original shipping costs are non-refundable unless the item is faulty
- Items returned in used, damaged, or unsaleable condition may be subject to a partial refund or declined
- Refunds can only be issued to the person who placed the order, using the original payment method
Responsibility for Returns
Returned goods remain your responsibility until received by us. Please ensure they are securely packaged to prevent damage in transit. We strongly recommend using a tracked postal service.
Your Statutory Rights
This policy does not affect your statutory rights under UK law.
