Welcome to Handmade Being. By accessing or placing an order through our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). Please read them carefully before using our services.


About Us

I am a UK-based sole trader operating under the name Handmade Being. My business includes the sale of creative kits and the organisation of in-person workshops. These Terms apply to all users of the site, including browsers, customers, and others.


Eligibility

To purchase from our website:

  • You must be at least 16 years old, or have the permission of a parent or guardian.
  • Children’s kits are designed for ages 6+, and children’s workshops are suitable for ages 5+. Adult workshops are intended for participants aged 16 and over.
  • Purchasing a workshop as a gift is permitted, provided the attendee meets the minimum age requirement.

I reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order if I believe it violates these policies or is otherwise unlawful.


Orders and Payments

  • All orders are subject to acceptance and availability.
  • I reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order due to pricing errors, stock issues, or suspected fraudulent activity.
  • Prices are listed in GBP and we are not VAT registered.
  • Payment must be made in full at checkout using the accepted methods displayed on this site.


Shipping and Delivery

Delivery is currently only available within the UK (excluding Northern Ireland and British Forces addresses).

Delivery options include:

  • Standard Shipping (2–4 business days)
  • Express Shipping (1–3 business days)

Shipping times are estimates and may be affected by external factors beyond my control. In the event of a postal strike or other disruption, I will endeavour to keep you updated on the progress of your order and expected delivery date. You are responsible for providing accurate delivery details.


Cancellations, Returns & Refunds

  • Items containing perishable or light-sensitive components (e.g. cyanotype kits) are not returnable once opened.
  • Workshop bookings are non-refundable but may be transferred or resold. Please see our cancellation policy for full terms.


Intellectual Property

All content on this site, including product descriptions, images, tutorials, and branding, is the intellectual property of Handmade Being and may not be copied, reproduced, distributed, or used for commercial purposes without written permission.


Account Creation

When using the account feature, you may register and create an account for easier access to order history, faster checkout, and workshop management.

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You agree to provide accurate and up-to-date information.
  • We are not liable for any unauthorised access to your account.
  • You agree to notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorised use.


Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

  • Use the site for unlawful purposes.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or user data.
  • Copy, scrape, or reproduce content, images, or materials without permission.
  • Use our products in unsafe, unintended, or harmful ways.
  • Use, upload, or repurpose any content, text, images, or media from this website to train artificial intelligence (AI) models or generative AI tools.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to our site for anyone found to be in breach of these terms.

  • Losses due to user misuse of products (e.g. improper handling of light-sensitive materials).
  • Any delays or failures due to events beyond our control (e.g. postal delays, strikes, or weather).


Important Safety Information for Cyanotype Products:

Cyanotype solutions and chemicals are intended for external, creative use only.

  • Do not ingest.
  • Avoid contact with eyes and mouth.
  • If contact with eyes occurs, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
  • We recommend wearing gloves and working in a well-ventilated area when handling cyanotype chemicals.
  • Keep out of reach of children unless under adult supervision.

Our total liability is limited to the value of the goods or services you purchased.


Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.


Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
